Artists are invited to submit artworks for selection and judging in the fourteenth Blacktown City Art Exhibition. It features four official sections – Painting, Watercolour, Works on Paper and Sculpture. In 1972, the Whyalla Art Prize was established by the Whyalla Arts Council. On behalf of QR Limited, the Public Art Unit, Project Services, is calling for Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified artists to design and install public artworks as part of the Ceremonial Avenue located in the heart of Townsville. Artwork Opportunity #1:  2D artwork integrated into approx 56m2 of pavement reflecting the history of the Great Northern Railway (GNR).  Artwork Opportunity #2: 2D artwork integrated into approx 126m2 of pavement reflecting the history of towns/major stations along the GNR.  Artwork Opportunity #3: Highly visible 3D artwork celebrating the achievements of the GNR over the past 120 years. national mentoring program for young and emerging artists – nationalThe Australia Council’s new national mentoring program for young and emerging artists, 'JUMP' brings the latest generation of artists across the country together with arts organisations and more established artists. 'JUMP' offers 30 young artists each year, a ten month mentoring partnership to build their professional skills, develop their arts practice in a chosen artform and create opportunities to collaborate across other artforms.
