Transforming the mortal to immortal is the gist of Mariejoe’s art
An article by Jenny Mouchantaf for LebRecord
We are far from dealing with a classical artist. This woman, with her vibrant eyes, carries you into her world where art is the mystification of the human body in its sensuality and its aggressiveness. Mariejoe Raidy, Artist and Creative Director at Raidy Printing Group, juggles between creativity and professionalism.
Her style is revealed in her portraits representing the invisible reality, her connections loaded with emotions as well as her curious illustrations. Curiosity and experimental are the keys of her artistic journey. Over the years, she unfolded a range of wonders which won the hearts of the spectators. It was pure destiny that led her to unveil the beauty of the Being.
Eager to preserve nature, she launches in 2005 the printing concept “eco-friendly” for the first time in the Arab world. Willingly or unwillingly, she devotes herself to a fierce battle against global warming by adopting the policy of sustainable development. Her concept is based on recycling of used material while maintaining the best printing quality. « I consult with the customer; I offer him/her the same high standard quality while working in an ecological manner.» she states.
Persistent hard work carried out these successes. This year Raidy Printing Group earned more than 5 international awards and recognitions for innovation, creation and implementation.
Selected as Eco-friendly Quality Printers in the International publication Print and production finishes for sustainable design.
Selected as Quality Print Consultants in the International publication Art Good design: deconstructing Form and Function and what makes good design work.
Selected as innovative Printers in the International publication Diagrams.
Selected as creative printers in the British publication Instant Graphics : source and remix Images for professional Design.
« I succeeded in establishing this green policy thanks to my customers who understood the importance of the eco-friendly concept and who agreed to take up challenge » Mariejoe points out proudly.
Combining perfectly her talent with her job, she made her way to the international arena.
Her artwork has been published in various books and exhibited in many art galleries in Lebanon, the UK, Argentina, Australia, and the US, including the International Museum of Women in San Fransisco, U.S., Just for You in Madrid, Spain, and Bak magazine in Istambul, Turkey.
Mariejoe likes to scrutinize portraits and to renew stereotyped visions. « I use natural objects around me, from the feather of a hen to food pigments, to express all the rage in me as well as the balances of my moods. »
Her work of art is enigmatic and in perpetual movement. She moves, she changes, everything around her is transformed… to dazzle sights and enchant spirits.
