On May 1, 2025, JAH Art Gallery unveiled its new location in Beirut’s Clemenceau district with a group exhibition titled “The Grand Opening.” The gallery, founded by Dr. Ayman Badreddine, aims to celebrate the richness of modern and contemporary art from the Middle East and North Africa. Its inaugural show brings together artists from across the region, giving audiences in Beirut an opportunity to see new voices and established names under one roof.
The gallery’s design balances openness and intimacy. Multiple halls and project rooms allow for ambitious installations, while flexible spaces and retractable walls encourage curatorial experimentation. A central lobby and reading area invite visitors to linger, fostering dialogue and community engagement. Dr. Badreddine notes that the gallery’s minimalist architecture allows the artwork to take centre stage.
More than a commercial space, JAH Art Gallery positions itself as a cultural platform linking the Arab world and its diaspora. By commissioning new work and providing scholarship opportunities, it aims to support MENA artists both financially and intellectually. The gallery hopes its presence will stimulate Beirut’s cultural scene even amid challenging economic conditions.
